Overview
CareHome Technologies (“CareHome,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the CareHome medication management platform, including the caregiver web application and senior check-in portal available at carehomeco.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
By using CareHome, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Account information. When a caregiver registers, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. When a senior profile is created by a caregiver, we collect the senior’s name, phone number, and relationship to the caregiver.
Medication and health information. Caregivers enter medication names, dosing schedules, and adherence windows for the seniors in their care. Seniors log dose check-ins through the app. This information is stored to provide the core service.
Usage data. We collect timestamps of dose check-ins, missed doses, caregiver acknowledgements, and manual check-in logs. This data is used to generate adherence metrics and improve the product.
Survey responses. Caregivers may be asked to complete optional in-app feedback surveys. Responses are stored and used for product research purposes.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate the CareHome medication tracking service
- Send SMS notifications to caregivers when a senior misses a scheduled dose
- Display adherence data and insights to caregivers
- Improve the product based on usage patterns and feedback
- Communicate with you about your account
Optional SMS Messaging
We do not share or sell your mobile information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS text messaging is an optional feature of CareHome.
You may use all features of CareHome without enabling or consenting to SMS messages.
How SMS Consent Works:
- Caregivers: May enable SMS missed-dose alerts by checking an opt-in box and providing their phone number, either at signup or later in Settings. The opt-in box is unchecked by default. Account creation does not require SMS consent.
- Seniors: May receive SMS reminders only if (a) their caregiver provides their phone number and checks the opt-in box, and (b) the senior replies YES or Y to a one-time confirmation text. The opt-in box is unchecked by default at patient enrollment. Patient enrollment does not require SMS consent.
Consent Management:
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS. Reply START to opt back in.
- We record every consent state change for compliance and audit purposes.
Information Collected via SMS:
- If SMS is enabled, we store the phone number, timestamp of consent, timestamp of each outgoing message, and the body/timestamp of any inbound replies (e.g., YES/STOP/NO).
- We do not share phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Supabase — database and backend infrastructure
- Netlify — web hosting
- Twilio — SMS delivery
Each of these providers processes data solely to provide their respective services and is bound by their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
We retain your account and health data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and access controls on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
CareHome is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
SMS Messaging Program | Alpha Testing
During the current alpha testing phase, CareHome sends SMS text messages to two groups of participants:
Caregivers receive missed-dose alerts when a senior in their care does not confirm their medication within the scheduled adherence window. Caregivers provide their phone number voluntarily in the Settings tab of the caregiver portal at caregivers.carehomeco.com. A consent notice is displayed at the point of entry: “By saving your number, you consent to receive missed-dose SMS alerts from CareHome.” No messages are sent until the caregiver explicitly saves their number.
Seniors receive medication dose reminders. Before any reminder is sent, seniors receive a one-time opt-in confirmation text: “CareHome: Your caregiver has enrolled you to receive medication reminders. Reply YES to confirm you consent, or STOP to decline.” No further messages are sent to a senior’s number until they reply YES. If they reply STOP or do not reply, no messages are ever sent to that number.
All alpha participants additionally sign a written consent form prior to enrollment confirming their agreement to receive SMS messages from CareHome Technologies.
Message types sent:
- Missed-dose alerts to caregivers
- Medication reminder notifications to seniors
- One-time opt-in confirmation to seniors
Message frequency: Varies based on the senior’s medication schedule. Typically one to two messages per day per patient.
Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message at any time to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for assistance. Opting out does not affect your ability to use the CareHome app.
Cost: Standard message and data rates may apply.
SMS provider: CareHome uses Twilio to deliver SMS messages. Twilio’s privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes.
