AJ Trelease loves his 97-year-old grandmother. That comes across when he talks about her.
But he also worries about her. He said she takes over 20 medications every day.
“The number one thing that worried me is is she taking it at the right time?” Trelease, founder of the Wilmington-based CareHome Health Solutions, said in a video posted on the CareHome website. “She’s been hospitalized three separate times from medication noncompliance, and I saw how drastic the problem truly is. Hundreds of people die every year from it; millions are sent to the ER, and my grandma is among them. I want to keep her at home, with dignity, for as long as possible, and I want to now do that for millions of other people.”
